چکیده

This article describes a new software infrastructure that combines the scalability and flexibility benefits of real-time network simulation with the realism of opensource routing protocol implementations. The infrastructure seamlessly integrates the open-source XORP router implementation with a real-time large-scale network simulation engine. The design uses a novel forwarding plane offloading approach that decouples routing from forwarding and confines the more resource consuming forwarding operations inside the simulation engine to reduce I/O overhead. Experiments demonstrate superior performance of the software routing infrastructure without impairing accuracy. The infrastructure is shown to able to support large-scale routing experiments on light-weight virtual machines.

A New Framework for Increasing the Sustainability of Infrastructure Measurement of Smart Grid

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is one of the most significant applications of the Smart Grid. It is used to measure, collect, and analyze data on power consumption.  In the AMI network, the smart meters traffics are aggregated in the intermediate aggregators and forwarded to the Meter Data Management System (MDMS). The infrastructure used in this network should be reliable, real-time an...

A scalable virtual circuit routing scheme for ATM networks

High-speed networks, such as ATM networks, are expected to support diverse quality-of-service (QoS) requirements, including real-time QoS. Real-time QoS is required by many applications such as voice and video. To support such service, routing protocols based on the Virtual Circuit (VC) model have been proposed. However, these protocols do not scale well to large networks in terms of storage an...

Hardware Support for Controlled Interaction of Guaranteed and Best-eeort Communication

Real-time communication typically consists of guaranteed packets that must satisfy their delivery deadlines and best-eeort packets that can tolerate occasional deadline misses for improved average latency. This paper presents hardware techniques for supporting the coexistence of these two traac classes in real-time point-to-point networks. A careful selection of routing and switching techniques...

Scalable Network Based E2e Admission Control Using Fuzzy Artmap

The traditional approach to admission control assumes that traffic descriptor is provided by the user or application for each flow prior to establishment for the real time multimedia communication. How ever this approach suffers from several problems. So, we propose a network-based endpoint admission Control system for scalable QoS guaranteed real-time communication services. This system is bas...
